Nagano WSD - 1000m ladies

Good morning! A well-filled field in the 1000m ladies on the final day. The only country not filling the quota is Russian, as Lobysheva and Abramova were ordered to stay at home after the Team Pursuit quarrel. That brings the first person in from the reserve list: Sang-Hwa Lee. With the two Russians and two Koreans skating with each other, again the demand for a return of the 'not-against-your-own-country' rule.

There are only 7 teams skating the team pursuit. Russia, who won the World Cup, is not present. There is no track record Team Pursuit in Nagano, but we can give you the Championships record, 2.58,15 (SLC, Canadians) and the World record, 2.56,04 (Ca, German Team)

The immense distance between Kramer and Fabris (and De Jong) was mainly because Sven was not in the last pair and had to give everything, something he is not used to doing in the long distances.

16 men are allowed to skate the 10,000m, but only 13 are able and willing to do so. And that includes the very last skater on the reservelist, Justin Warsylewicz. At least Tristan Loy is taking his place and seems not to have given up entirely on long track.

Wolf brought the Track record on this track below 38, also Beixing Wang was below the former (Manli Wang) TR of 38.13. 37.89 and 37.74 makes Wolf so much better than everybody else.
Gerd Zimmermann hands out the medals and kisses. Wang can smile. Gerritsen, too.
