Beorn Nijenhuis took the track record, faster than it was skated yesterday by Shani Davis. Nijenhuis improved not only his personal best, but also robbed Gerard van Velde from his Dutch record, skating at the Olympics in 2002. His time: 1.07,07! It was not the only NR: José Fazio skated 1.13,46 for Argentina and Riopel set another NRJ.

At the end of the season, that got half lost because of injury, Christofer Tsimaras is back with a Greek record. Christian Pichler beat Ronald Brunner after 9 years with 0.03 and a Canadian junior record for Philippe Riopel, the coming man.
Shani Davis also participates in the men's sprint and clocked 35,23, also the fastest time for him this season. He also improved the Calgary track record to 1.07,16. In the open 500m, Jeremy Wotherspoon skated a 34,05 track record.
A 1000m pb for Beorn Nijenhuis, and 35,11 is his best time this season.

Susanna Potka skated Finnish records of 40.73 and 1.21,38 and there was also a Norwegian junior record by Rikke Jeppson.

The men raced the last allround distance, and there were open races 1500 and 5000m. Besides the 1500m world record, there also was a NR for Argentina, 15.45,47 and a surprising Dutchman winning the 10k ahead of Arne Dankers. Tom Schuit skated a Dutch junior record on the 5000m, 6.21,96. Berden de Vries skated a junior world record in points: 148.070. The previous record belonged to Wouter Olde Heuvel, 148.614. Philippe Riopel with 148,210 set a Canadian record.
