Tom Schuit skated a Dutch junior record on the 5000m, 6.21,96. Berden de Vries skated a junior world record in points: 148.070. The previous record belonged to Wouter Olde Heuvel, 148.614. Philippe Riopel with 148,210 set a Canadian record.
