The 1500m ladies is on its way.

Ishino- Ringsred 2.05,54 and 2.08,72
Raney - Lee 2.04,71 and 2.02,18
Hughes - Opitz hard to keep below Lee. Hughes has built a good race, 27.52, 0.6, 1.5 and 1.8 and finishes in 2.01,62, the new leading time, Opitz 27.23, 0.3, 1.6 and 3.2 to 2.02.46. Hughes lead with 124.508 points.

Abramova - Wojcicka. Abramova is the fast starter, 26,16, Wojcicka 26,67. Then laps 9.7/9.9, but Wojcicka comes closer, with a 1.8 lap versus 2.2. In the final lap, Wojcicka gives all, the lap is 3.5 and her time 2.02,02, the second time here. Abramova 2.03,78. The time for Wojcicka is not enough to stay in front of Hughes, she has 124.514 points. Abramova drops behind Opitz in the ranks.

Schussler- Hemmer. Schussler opens 26,69, Hemmer 27,28 races her own race, coached by Peter Mueller. Laps then 9.3/0.5, Schussler goes well, then has 1.1 versus 2.0 Hemmer, and finishes with a strong 2.9 in 2.00,11, so Schussler takes over the lead with 123.607 points. Hemmer has also a pretty strong finish with 3.1 and reaches 2.03,04. Her points are 124,601.

Mattscherodt - Likhachova. Mattscherodt needs a good race to get into the top-13 overall. She opens 27.17, her laps are good with 0.1, 1.0 and finally 2.2. Her time is 2.00,56, which is now the second time. She has 123.559 points. It first depends on Tabata. Likhachova skates 2.02,22. and won't make it in either list of top-12.

Lobysheva - Tabata. They, too want to make that last distance and are not in top-12 on the 3000, Tabata wins the pair, 2.00,69, Lobysheva 2.01,45. They stay top-12 on the ranking, as Tabata gathred 123.283 points and Lobysheva 123.503 points, they stay ahead of Mattscherodt, who has to hope that her 10th time on the 3k is enough, behind the 7th place of Hughes on the 3k.  

Pechstein- Leenstra. First lap 29.9/9.7, Then 1.0 but 0.8 for Leenstra, and a final 2.4 for both, but Marrit had the faster opening and finished in 1.59,50; Pechstein 1.59.77, the best two times, and also in teh ranking they stayed ahead, with 121.948 points for Pechstein and 122.028 for Leenstra.

Sablikova-Anschütz. The German overtook the lead from Sablikova, with a 1.59,44 time, the Czech, with a 2.2 final lap to 1.59,63. Anschutz has now 121.698 points, but Sablikova can make it up later today, she has now 121,744 points and is still ahead of Pechstein.

In the next pair, Wang- Valkenburg, In spite of strong races, laps 9.7/9.6, 0.6/0.9 and 2.2/2.5, Wang skates the fastest time, 1.59,31, Valkenburg with 1.59.83 drops in the ranks behind Sablikova,wiht 121.804 point. Wang leads with 121,631.

Next pair the initial favourites for this weekend, Wüst and Groves. Opening Wuust 25.84, Groves 26.04. Laps 9.1/9.0, 0.3/0.7 and Wüst takes it with a 2.3 final lap against 2.8 for Groves. 1.57,59 the time for Wüst, Groves is now second with 158,67. This means Wust has 119,579 points and stays ahead of Groves after 3 distances. Groves has 120.256 points. 

Nesbitt starts faster than Wust with 25,77 in the outerlane, Van Deutekom 26,09. Nesbitt is flying in the start, with a 8.8 lap. Paulien has 9.1, but then 0.2, where Nesbitt drops to 0.6. In the last outer, Van Deutekom takes this race. 1.57,83, but it's not the winning time on the distance. That is for Wüst. Nesbitt is third with 1.58,56. This means that in the ranking, Van Deutekom leads with 119,481 point, and that Nesbitt has lost a spot and dropped to third behind Wüst, with 119,773 points.

On the last distance we'll see the top-10 in teh ranking (until Leenstra) based on top-12 in both lists, plus Hughes based on her 7th place in the 3000m, plus Mattscherodt, based on her 10th place in the 3000m.
