"The most thrilling thing in the life is to achieve something that people have told you that you can't do," Lee Kyou-Hyuk wrote in a message on his personal homepage. The 30-year-old Korean speed skater has achieved that most thrilling thing. Lee won the International Skating Union sprint speedskating world championships for a second straight year in Heerenveen, the Netherlands on Monday. He is the first Korean ever to win back-to-back ISU championship titles.

Having finished third on the first day, Lee won both the final 500-m and 1000-m races with 34.85 seconds and 1:08.82, beating the four-time champion Jeremy Wotherspoon of Canada by 0.095 in total points.

"I can't believe I won the event again after last year, but now I will concentrate only on winning the Winter Olympics," Lee said. Korea proved its power in speedskating with three skaters in the top 10, including Moon Joon at third and Lee Kang-Seok at 10th.
