The 1500m ladies: Some ladies desparately want to climb in the ranking to qualify either for the last distance (like Anna Rokita and Maren Haugli), or for the World Allround Championships, even if their countries require a top-6 rank to directly qualify (Groenewold).

1. Anghel skates 2:04.16 on the ice that has a new top layer after yesterday. She drops exactly 2 seconds each lap. After a 3k disqualification, she is not in the ranking and this was it for her.
2. Tóth / Grage. At the tail of the ranking, Grage drops very little per lap, 2.3, 3.1, 3.5, her time is 2.08,11 and she passes Tóth in the ranking, because the Hungarian skates 2.10,82 which makes 131,292 points in total.
3. Myagkikh / Jirku; Jirku is not as high in the ranks as last year on the outdoor rink. Myagkikh takes the lead, 27,21 her opening, but with laps 1.1, 3.3 and 5.4 she sees Jirku pass her in the last turn. Jirku's laps are 1.7, 3.0 and 3.2, with a strong final lap, she finishes in 2.06,35; Myagkikh 2.07.08. Their points: 129,251 Myagkikh, 129,776 Jirku.
4. Yasenok / Johansson. Yasenok does 2.04,62 and has 126.228 points, Marita Johansson finishes with 2.05,91 in 20th place with 128.658 points.
5. Hemmer / Oltean. Opening for Oltean 27,17 is the best so far, her laps 0.5, 2.2 and 3.0 brings her to 2.03,00 and 125,650. Not enough to pass Hemmer, who opens 27,47 and laps 0.8, 2.1 (!) and 2.9. Time 2.03,42 and 125,278 keeps her top-17.

6.Haugli / Czerwonka. Haugli was top-10 in the 3000 and can qualify for hte last distance. It would be best for that, if she climbs a few spots. Her opponent Czerwonka finishes in 2.04,49, 125,544 points, which is not enough to stay in front of Hemmer, so Czerwonka is 17th in the ranks, Hemmer climbs to place 16. Maren Haugli skates the strongest time so far, laps 0.1, 1.5, 3.3 to 2.02,34. Her points 124,001.
7. Rokita / Abramova. The Russian wants to show her strength in the 1500 to climb into the top-12 and make the World team (top-14). Abramova opens 25,98, laps 9.1, 1.3, 4.2 in the last lap, but her 2.00,71 is fast enough to take the lead, to have 123,439 points, passing Rokita. She is now 13th in the ranking. Rokita skates 2.03,33, which gives her 124,301 point, so she drops a place behind Maren Haugli. Haugli is anyway top-14 now.

Lobysheva and Likhachova are in the top-10 overall, but not on the long distance. The rank of Likhachova will decide if she will skate the last distance, or if Haugli takes that place.

8. Opitz / Mattscherodt.  Opitz opens 26,99. Her lap 0.1, Mattscherodt 9.7; then 1.0/0.9 and 3.3/2.0. Mattscherodt skates exactly 2.00,00, fastest time, Opitz 2.01,54. They lead in the classification, with 122,978 points for Mattscherodt and 123,406 for Opitz. They are 11 and 12 in the ranks and as they were top-12 on the 3k as well, they have both qualified for the 5.
9 Wójcicka / Likhachova. They open 26.5, Wojcicka 9.4 and 0.9, Likhachova 9.7, 0.8... the win is for Wojcicka, 1.59,83 and 121,656 points, also qualified for the final distance. Likhachova with 2.00,15 has 122,785 points. She is in tenth place, and as the rule has changed some time ago to the ranking above the distance, Likhachova qualified and not Haugli.
10. Lobysheva / Groenewold. Lobysheva opened 26,27, Groenewold 27.02. Lobysheva 9.5, Renate 9.8. Then 1.0 and 1.1; Groenewold is stronger in the last lap, 2.2 versus 3.7. Time Groenewold, 2.00,27 Lobysheva 2.00,59. Lobysheva has 121,632 points, keeps her 7th place in the ranks, which brings her to the last distance. Groenewold drops a place to 9th with 121,726 points. Wojcicka is ahead of her.

11. Leenstra / Sablikova. A great start for Leenstra in spite of touching her ankle with her skate, 26,36 and a 8.9 lap, keeps Sablikova far behind, but Sablikova is also fast. with 26,92 and 9.5. Leenstra is the winner at the Dutch allrounds on this distnace. Next lap 0.0 Leenstra and 0.4 Sablikova. Then 1.4 Sablikova an 1.8 Leenstra, whose time is 1.57,24 (119.730 points) and Sablikova 1.58,48 (120,351). They stay 5 and 6 in the ranks.

12. Pechstein / Anschütz. Pechstein 26,01, Anschütz 26,24. Then 8.9, 9.1 for Pechstein. Next lap 0.0 Pechstein, 0.4 Anschütz, which is slower than Leenstra. With 2.0 and 2.2 they finish in 1.57,28 Pechstein, just 0.04 behind Leenstra, who made the podium again. Anschütz 1.57,91. In points, Anschütz is behind Leenstra, 119,878, Pechstein 119,389 leads.

13. Wüst / Van Deutekom. Outerlane goes down too slowly and it's a first false start. But then they are off fast, 25,70 Wüst, 26,12 Deut. Laps 8.6 and 9.1, then a 0.4 for both, and in the final lap, Van Deutekom is strong. Even with a hard crossing where Van Deutekom had to wait for Wüst after 800 m, they are number one and two: 1.56,88 for Wüst, and 118,746 points. Van Deutekom 1.57,07 and 118,989 points. The time of Wüst is only 0.1 seconds away from the Championships record of Wüst set exactly a year ago.

Results: A Dutch podium Wust - Van Deutekom - Leenstra.
The top-11 of the 3000 qualified for the 5000, except Haugli, and Lobysheva and Likhachova based on her 7th and 10th place in the ranking.
