Fourth after the first day, Marrit Leenstra is careful to think about the European Championships:
"I didn’t come here for the E.Ch. I’ve never skated the 5k, and I know it will be hard to skate this allround combination and finish fourth. I want to skate with pleasure, but it doesn’t feel like I’m in the top-4 in the Netherlands. I just try to skate well. If I go for the top-4, I’m in for a disappointment. I’m a bit careful. If I skate well it is okay. Of course I want to be fourth, but it’s not the main thing for me. After the 500, I looked, 16th, and I compared with Diane, but now I haven’t looked at it. O, am I one second on the 1500m ahead We skate more or less the same times on the 1500, but then we got the 5000." |
