Thialf, Friday morning, almost 1030. It's a bit busy, with mostly skaters and coaches, three journalists, except me a Japanese for Kodaira in the first pair, and of course a DUtch one.
Kodaira started. 10.93 - 39.54. Malysheva had a false start, then is off at 10.99, Susanna Potka 11.58. the Russian finishes in 39,61, a new pb, Potka 42,22 in her first World Cup start this season. Myagkikh 11.54, Bruintjes 11.14 and 40.08, Myagkikh 41,82. Bruintjes skates instead of Marloes Gelderblom, because she had been denied the 1000 in Calgary, and because she finished before Gelderblom on the 2x500 at the NSD. A close finish between Claudia Wallin (10.96-) and Karolina Ksyt (11.51-) with 41.10 and 41.20. Photofinish and transponders and the beam work together to ensure correct times. Paulina Wallin opens 10,97, her pairmate Gabi Hirschbichler 10.82, but they end above 40, 40.03 for Hirschbichler, 40.86 Wallin. Sanne van dr Star opens 11.00, Lobysheva 11.16. Sanne has a good lap, and finishes in 39.44, the fastest time so far. Lobysheva with 39.85 also below 40. Peiyu Jin 39,44, You-Lim Kim 39,54, so Sanne shares the lead now with Jin. Svetlana Radkevich opens 10.93, a tiny bit slower than Christine Nesbitt, 10.90, biut then Nesbitt proceeds to 39.93 and wins, Radkevich 40.01. Elli Ochowicz finishes after 10.87 in 39.15, and takes the second place, Kim Weger 40.46.
