During teh 31st Makunai meeting at the Makomanai Stadium in Sapporo, Japan, three track records were lowered.
Not by Hiroyasu Shimizu, who won the 500 and the 1000m, but on the 3000m by Teruhiro Sugimori and on the 5000m by Toshihiko Itokawa. The new trs are 4.02,30 and 6.48,02. The old ones were 4.03,76 and 6.53,51. Also the time of Eriko Ishino on the 3000m is a new track record. Her 4.17,26 is an improvement with 6 seconds, from 4.23,22.
