After losing to Enrico Fabris in the last pair of the 1500m:
"I thought I was better prepared this time than in Berlin, when he did the same thing, and overtook me in the last turn. I managed to keep ahead of him in that last inner, but still he managed to just overtake me." "What can I say, I skated in Turin with the Olympic Champion, and was beaten in the last meters. I'd rather have won, but it was a heroic fight, and I'm happy to have been a part of it." "I was closer than in Berlin, where I crossed ahead of him and lost all powers in the end and I felt him coming. Now he crossed in front of me, and I didn't die so much. I didn't feel him coming this time. I could fight to the end. Soon we go to Salt Lake and Calgary, then I should be even more capable of getting through the last 100m." "My legs were heavy this week. I hope it will be better next week, in Heerenveen." |
